Hey Dolls! YES its true! Wigs can definitely be a protective style! This is how! This is part one on tips to make sure your real hair is flourishing under these wigs boo!
You NEED to be taking care of your hair in between installs! In the video I'm showing you one part of my haircare regimen that I do every two-three weeks!
First I mix 50/50 apple cider vinegar and water to my spray bottle. I spray this directly into my scalp and rub it in to my scalp and edges. This is to cleanse my scalp prior to shampooing my hair. It really helps you remove dirt and build-up in the scalp and strands, especially if you have low porosity hair. Then I shampoo my hair, and proceed to deep condition. Products listed in the video are:
Tea trea hair cholesterol
Olive oil hair cholesterol
Jamaican black castor oil
Intensive repair deep conditioning treatment
Hair Mayonnaise
Egg yolk
Aloe vera plant
On my damp hair I proceed to:
section out my hair
detangle the section with a detangle brush
Apply the mixture
Two strand twist my hair
I usually sleep in this overnight or for a couple hours, depending on how much time I have set aside. I rinse it out, condition, and style! And my hair is ALWAYS so soft after I do this! This has made my type 4 hair sooooooo manageable! I can blow dry it so much more easily and cornrow my hair for my wigs!
**Note: everyone's hair is different. I've tried this BEFORE shampooing, AFTER shampooing, etc. Recently I've been doing it after I shampoo. Try this and let me know how it works best for you! #SHOPVDHCO #VixenDollHair
